I'm using XP and have an NVIDIA 7300 SE video card that I'd like to use for
two LCD video monitors. I plugged the second one into the back of the card
yesterday, and XP didn't recognize it. What do I need to do to get it to
fire up properly? I expect to move window between the two monitors for
various applications. When I look at Systems Device Drivers, I see only one
monitor, or maybe just one card. The 7300.

Re: NVIDIA 7300 SE Card and Dual Monitors

Did you install Nvidea drivers, or rely on default win drivers?
Multi Monitor config is via the NVidea driver, it wont automatically show
the second monitor if you havent configured it for multi monitor - iether by
clone or by spaning across both monitors
Device Manager should show the single Display Adapter
If you have correctly installed the driver there should be a Nvidea settings
icon in your tool bar

Right click on desktop, properties, settings.

I'll give these ideas a try tomorrow.

Re: NVIDIA 7300 SE Card and Dual Monitors

Well, that was interesting. I realized that about one week ago I moved from
w2k to XP, and so decided to install the XP drivers. I did find an NVIDIA
Control Panel by right-clicking on the desktop, but it showed that I could
only install one display. My second monitor is a ViewSonic 710S, a modest
squarish monitor. I cannot find a booklet on the video card, but will go to
the NVIDIA site and see what those two connectors in the back really are.

According to Dev Mgr, only one display device is installed. Back later.

Re: NVIDIA 7300 SE Card and Dual Monitors

The card supports multi Monitor; it uses nView, for the settings
If you correctly installed the driver from NVidea site, had both monitors
connected/on when you installed it, the install should have completed and
gone into an option to configure your displays.
There will also be a Nvidea icon on the task bar, which if you open has
options for configuring both displays
