I have a computer that is vista ready. I got the upgrade disk from HP. Just
wondering if I do the upgrade do I lose all the programs taht already
previously installled. Examples are 2008 windows office, I also have alot of
programs from work that I need to have on my computer again. I just want to
be safe than sorry.

Re: upgrade to vista

It's all about Windows /Update/ here, not upgrading Windows. Try posting to
this Vista-specific newsgroup instead:

Backup first as a disk image, then if the upgrade
does a format before upgrading you will be able to
recover. If you should need to recover then make a
copy of the first disk image, preferably onto optical
media before doing the restore.
That way you will never be left with only one
copy of critical data.
