I have to support several Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server edition
servers. I recently upgraded my desktop computer to Vista SP1. When I
attempt to connect to the 4.0 servers, I receive the error "Because of
a protocol error, this session will be disconnected. Please try
connecting to the remote computer again."

1. Is Vista SP1's version of RDP incompatible with Windows NT 4.0
Terminal Server?
2. If so, is there a workaround short of downgrading my PC?

I have already set the advanced option to not use a TS gateway.

Re: Vista Remote Desktop Client Compatibility

RDC from Vista SP1 to Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server is an unsupported
scenario and hence it is very possible that it won't work.
