Re: NEW COMPUTER SITE
Re: NEW COMPUTER SITE
You are doing more than "trying to help folks out", you are trying to get
them to spend money (on advertisers who then will pay you.) Such advertising
in this newsgroup is called SPAM.
If you want to hang out here and help people, that's what we're here for. If
that help just HAPPENS to be best done by referring the person to your site
or someone else's, that's fine. But always think first -- who gets the most
out of this referral? The User or You? The fact that you proffered your site
without even being asked is a hint that your motives are suspect, that you'd
rather be building websites that steal other people's ideas and sell other
people's stuff than you exercise your brain and making sure exactly what the
problem is and then offering EXACTLY the solution that is thus suggested. In
your case, someone says they have a problem with Windows 98 and you send
them to a general Help site. And not a particularly good one, either. In
fact, it's downright lousy. Hint: You don't have the voice to do live
presentations. Get rid of the YouTube crap. Then again, my advice is to dump
the whole thing. If you can make site that's good enough to sell, good for
you (just don't sell it here.)
Hey, wanna bet that the YouTube terms of use specifically prohibit your
stealing of their technology.
