I am trying to log into a windows 2003 server from a vista Ultimate machine.
From my XP machine it works fine but the Vista one says it can't connect. any
ideas?

Re: Can't log into Windows 2003 Server

Have you checked the firewall settings on the Vista client?
Can you ping the TS from the Vista client?
Can you post the *exact* error message that you get?
Have you never been able to connect from the Vista client at all, or
have you connected succesfully once? If so, are there any warnings or
errors in the EventViewer on the TS when you try to connect from the
Vista client?

Re: Can't log into Windows 2003 Server

I can actually log into the server but right after I hit enter to log in the
screen basically "freezes" and then after about a minutes says it looses
connection. Then every once and awhile I reconnect for a few seconds.

I can not ping for some reason even though I can use mstsc and remotely log in

Re: Can't log into Windows 2003 Server

OK, seems it's the autotuning feature in Vista.
Check this:

934430 - Network connectivity may fail when you try to use Windows
Vista behind a firewall device

Hi,

I clicked on the link and the article displayed fine. Did the
link wrap in your newsreader or did you get an error?

Re: Can't log into Windows 2003 Server

Nope that didn't work either. The error message is this
"The connection has been lost. Attempting to reconnect to your session...
Connection attempt 1 of 20"

Any ideas?
