Did you click on the View menu on the toolbar at the top of the window and
select Choose Details from the menu? This should bring up a box where you can
click on Date Modified add it to the columns you have displayed. You can then
click on the Date Modified column to arrange them in order.

If you want to change the template used for this folder, click on Customize This
Folder on the View menu. You can change it to Documents.

Good luck

RE: Changing FOLDER TYPE in WinXP - how?

Before replying to your post mjs, I actually experimented on your little
problem and it seems to me that this feature is built into XP's interface. It
seems that no matter what folder you are viewing the task options appear
unless you are in Folders view but if you click the arrow for that task
window it will not show them no matter when you that folder.

To view the files as per on Modified on Date do this: click the View menu
and click Details to view the files in detail view and then click on Choose
Details... then there you have the option of applying the Modified On as a
detail.

Hope this helps.

Changing FOLDER TYPE in WinXP - how?

How do I tell WinXP to make a Music Folder into a Normal Folder? In other
words, I don't want to see "Music Tasks" in the lefthand column in
Explorer... I want to see the normal folder options.

There's no way to arrange files by "modified" in the Music folders, which is
extremely annoying. Even when you select DETAILED view, it won't tell you
the Modified On date.

Thanks!

Try this, mjs....... Set the folder to Detail view, then......right click
on the area where you see Name, Size, Type, etc. Choose to add the Date
Modified parameter. Once it shows on the bar, just click & drag it to any
position (lt or rt) that you wish.
