Re: Windows Vista startup problem
Hi, i have a problem with my laptop pre-installed with Windows Vista Home
Premium. When i start up, i can only start up in safe mode. I cannot log-in
normally because when it gets to the Vista loading screen, when the green
progress bar shows, it just keeps loading?? I don't know why, but i think i
had a problem like this before due to a bad boot sector.
The pinch here is that, i can only boot up in safe mode. Using last good
configuration doesn't work and when i run chkdsk /r or chkdsk /f in safe
mode, i cannot run becaus it says that because it is a NTFS file system, it
cannot lock the drive because it is write protected.
I tried using the Vista boot cd to use startup repair, didnt work, tried
using system restore, didnt work because it hung when it was trying to
restore files
This hasnt happened before, so any ideas would be appreciated.
