Ok so I have 2 180-day trial versions of Windows Server 2003 that came with
college text books. If I were to install one of these on a machine, and the
trial period expires, can I just enter the key for the second copy to keep
using this for another 180 days, or will I need to do a fresh install and
enter the second key to continue use? TIA

I believe its timebombed so that it doesn't matter what you do, it'll
stop working after 180 days. It's a trial for a reason, it's so you can
try the software free, but Microsoft doesn't want you to keep using it
past that.

Re: 2003 Server Trial

I know it is time bombed, and it will ask for a valid key to make it a full
version before the time bomb activates. Since I have 2 perfectly legal
trials w/ 2 perfectly legal trial keys, what I want to do would not be
anything outside of any terms specified as a condition of the trial wares.
Both trials came with 2 different textbooks from 2 different Windows Server
2003 classes. I guess I can always do a backup before the time bomb
activates, reinstall, and restore my backup; but I was just hoping someone
knew if I could do it the way I would like and avoid the hassle. Anyone else
know?
