Hi,
On of our TS2003 Terminal Servers shows the following issues once every
10-15 days or so:
- Some users cannot login as soon as they enter their credentials
- Some users who manage to login cannot use their Startmenu which is empty.
The Startmenu is redirected from a network share.
- Currently logged in users cannot access network shares on other servers.
- Mapped drives are disconnected.
- Outlook connections to Exchange servers are disconnected.
Our only solution sofar has been to reboot the server.
The eventlog shows the following events:
-----------------------
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event ID: 1055
User: <username>
Computer: TERMINAL
Description:
Windows cannot determine the computer name. (The RPC server is
unavailable. ). Group Policy processing aborted.
-----------------------
-----------------------
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event ID: 1521
User: <username>
Computer: TERMINAL
Description:
Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is
attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile
will not be copied to the server when you logoff. Possible causes of this
error include network problems or insufficient security rights. If this
problem persists, contact your network administrator.
DETAIL - A device attached to the system is not functioning.
-----------------------
-----------------------
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event ID: 1085
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: TERMINAL
Description:
The Group Policy client-side extension Scripts failed to execute. Please
look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.
-----------------------
-----------------------
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event ID: 1058
User: <username>
Computer: TERMINAL
Description:
Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO
CN={818D1CE0-DE96-48AD-B4A3-DB24B673AF57},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=organization,DC=com.
The file must be present at the location
\\organization.com\SysVol\organization\Policies\{818D1CE0-DE96-48AD-B4A3-DB24B673AF57}\gpt.ini
(A device attached to the system is not functioning. ). Group Policy
processing aborted.
-----------------------
It seems like it has something to do with the network connection, maybe some
kind of buffer that fills itself or maybe a memory in an application.
I hope someone knows how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance!
