RE: Error installing (KB 921896)

I, too, am having the same installation failure for SQL Server 2005, which
has been trying to install for some time. I've tried downloading the free
standing file, which ends up failing in the same way, despite installing as
administrator. If it's important to have this, please help. The latest log

Open the Services console and make sure that both MSSQL services are set
to Automatic for Startup type.

Both are set to automatic. MSSMLBIZ will not start, however . . . it tries to
but stops short with the message that it runs only when a needed program is
running.

Thanks. I believe I got it done. Setting to Manual did not allow me to
install the program via Windows Update. But when I clicked on the setup file
itself as Administrator, I was able to install (or I never got an error
message and the install program finished).

setup file and choosing ' Run as Admin' the SP installed, correct ?

Correct and that's after trying it via Update failed. Right clicking and
