Hi

Since I installed Vista SP1 the /console switch no longer lets me log into
the RDP server console. I just get another session created.

Anyone else get the same?

Cheers

Check out Visonapp Remote Desktop Manager (free) - it rocks when you have a
lot of machines to remotely manage.

Not just for the sake of change.
Since the console session on Vista and Windows 2008 is not an
interactive session anymore, the /console flag to mstsc became an
inappropriate name.

Here's more info:

I can understand that this is not a change for the sake of change. However
this is still poorly executed. MS should have made it more VISIBLE in XP
SP3. I think the deployment of it was poorly communicated. If you google
the console switch a lot of posts come up talking about this. Even after
reading the white papers and other docs, the place I found the info I was
looking for is in the Server 2008

Yes, I agree that it would have been better to either support both
the /console and the /admin flag, or pop-up a warning when the
/console flag is used, explaining that it has been changed to the
/admin flag.
