Guys,

Have a real weird issue, hoping someone can help.

We are building our TS servers using unattended.txt launched from within
WinPE. As part of the build the C:\documents and settings folder is being
moved onto the D:\. This being done using the microsoft supported method of :

Use the /UNATTEND switch with Winnt.exe or Winnt32.exe and insert the
following entry into the Unattend.txt file, where z:\foldername is the path
and folder name you want:

[GuiUNattended]
ProfilesDir = z:\foldername

This info is from http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=236621

In my case, ProfileDir=D:\Profiles

The machine builds fine... however everytime someone logs in, a dialogue
pops up saying 'Windows cannot open this file' and the file it is referring
to is called 'random.byt' and asking how windows should open it (Check the
web or choose a program to open with options).

The file for some reasons exists in the All Users Startup folder. How it got
there after a fresh build, I have no idea... and confused. I can easily
delete it and thats that. But my concern is what if something else has gone
wrong during build. Event logs all seem fine and no mention of file. Just not
quite sure how it made its way to the All Users Startup folder... If we dont
redirect the documents and setting profiles folder and leave it in its
default location... no such issue exists. Its seems only when we use the
ProfilesDir entry in unattended.txt that this happens...

Has anyone seen this behaviour? I wanted to cross post this to the relevant
Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition groups, but couldn;t figure out how
cross posting works...

Any Help, as usual appreciated
