Re: 64 bit software upgrade

Sorry, Matt. But this is a community support newsgroup. Folks here don't
work for Microsoft and we don't have access to anything to do with upgrade
offers. You need to contact Microsoft directly.

That being said, what are you trying to do? Upgrade from 32-bit Home Premium
to 64-bit Home Premium? It isn't an upgrade, it's just an order for a new
64-bit DVD if you have the retail version. If you have an OEM version, there
is no upgrade (well, except to Ultimate). And you can't just order a new
64-bit disk. You have to contact your OEM to see if you have any options.

Re: 64 bit software upgrade

I would call Microsoft support.

Re: 64 bit software upgrade

Hi, Matt.

And, no matter how you get your 64-bit DVD and the license for it, and no
matter whether it is the "full" or upgrade version...

You can't "upgrade" from ANY 32-bit Windows to ANY 64-bit Windows. It's a
hardware thing. You'll have to do a clean install, then find and install
any 64-bit drivers that are not included on the Vista DVD, and then
reinstall your applications. Most of your 32-bit apps will run fine in
Vista x64, but you may need 64-bit versions for some.

You DO have a 64-bit computer, don't you? There's no way to install Vista
x64 on 32-bit hardware.
