Oh boy, deja vu all over again...Windows 95...Windows ME...Windows
XP64...Vista...Vista SP1...And so it goes... But hey, look at the bright
side, you get FREE support! Isn't that great? You paid for a working
product and still it doesn't work? What a bunk! Under such
circumstances, shouldn't Microsoft give Vista away for free? Huh?

But even if it was free, I wouldn't touch it because I never thought
that Vista ever left the beta stage so I suspect that in a few months
(perhaps years), Microsoft will pay for those of us who are still
holding out to take Vista for free...

Vista, what a beautiful name, it means a distant view through an
opening. Once you get through that opening, disaster waits for you. Very
appropriate.

At the end, this is not Microsoft's fault because MS doesn't have to
agree to the license, we do. So I guess it's nice that MS offers help
for free, but I still won't buy it, not yet...

So buy an Ubuntu box.

Forget Ubuntu. Those South Africans are just too strange. Mandriva, if
you're clueless; Zenwalk, if you're a Diva.

Re: SP1 Vista 64 bit round 2 still no go

Look in your Windows/SoftwareDistribution for the log file then search for
the download you want. It will be in the Download file. Remember that WU
does a check on the validity of the file before it starts the install

Re: SP1 Vista 64 bit round 2 still no go

What does being a Beta tester have to do with Microsoft's
offer of free Support?

That makes about as much sense as worrying about the price
of eggs in China when you pumping gas into you car!

Re: SP1 Vista 64 bit round 2 still no go

well they have you do their work they should have tested before they
released a product
hence--Beta testers

Some folks are dense but that's ok :)

Re: SP1 Vista 64 bit round 2 still no go

There is no amount of testing feasible that could guarantee that a release
would work on every possible combination of hardware and software on the
millions of computers Vista gets installed on. I personally think they do a
super job.

So you think Microsoft should test every conceivable
configuration before they release an os?

Re: SP1 Vista 64 bit round 2 still no go

And someday you might even mature and become an adult!

How old are you now, around 8 or 10 years old?

I often see juveniles sticking their tongue when they think
they know more than anyone else!

Re: SP1 Vista 64 bit round 2 still no go

Theo - Let's avoid personal attacks, please? I know it can sometimes be
frustrating, but we've worked hard in this NG to keep things as professional
as we can. That way everyone feels welcome, and we all benefit in the long
run.

sometimes.
