Hey all,

In past we've used Robocopy to replicate data for High Availability of our data on some web servers. We recently purchased new server to replace some older ones and these boxes run W2K3 x64. The issue, as we found out recently, is that Robocopy doesn't work on x64.

Does Microsoft have a solution for this scenario and/or is there an alternate solution that will run on W2K3 x64 that will meet our needs? Please let me know as we need to move forward with implementing these new boxes.

Thanks,

Roger

Re: Robocopy & W2K3 R2 x64

As far as I know, nothing in the Resource Kit supports running in a 64bit
environment.

I have no experience with anything of this sort, but I do not see why you
couldn't run RC off a 32bit box that can access the filesystem in question,
the server would have to keep files locked while they are being accessed, if
RC can handle being locked out at times from a remote location, all IT
needs is a 32bit environment to execute, the filesystem would not have any
impact on any 'bitness' factors - and reversely, the bitness factors
wouldn't have any impact on the filesystem.

Perhaps you should investigate running it from a Virtualized environment? -
don't know if any of this makes any sense, if it doesn't I've just wasted a
few seconds of your time!
