USB 2.0 Problem & New RAM Question

Greetings,
I'm hoping for some help:

1. I have a USB 2.0/Firewire combo card in my computer, but I'm not getting
USB 2.0 performace. Whenever I plug something in, I get a little message
telling me I could be faster by plugging into a USB 2.0 port, even when I
have a device plugged into the card.

- I've tried to locate the manufacturer (Cicero) to see if I'm missing
drivers, but I can not locate them, have they possible been absorbed by some
other company?

- My copy of XP Pro is fully updated to my knowledge

- I've checked my Device Manger only to see everything working properly (no
yellow exclamation marks), but only regular USB poorts listed (no USB 2.0
Enhanced)

- What can I do short of buying a new card?

2. My second question is simply this. I had a 512 MB stick of Ram in the
computer, I just went out and bought another GB and installed it myself. Is
there anything that I need to know?
- Do I need to manually configure anything to take advantage of the new RAM?
- Does it matter which slot or in which order I put the two sticks in?

Thanks so much!

Cecero seems to be a "store" brand (was found in Future Shop stores in
Canada.)

Sad to say but Cicero is only supporting "full" PCs and not parts.
http://www.cicero.ca/en/Support/downloads.cfm

I seem to remember that serveral Cicero products were directing peope
to Samtack for support (http://www.samtack.com/support.htm)

I had this USB 2 problem for sometime (with TRENDnet and SMC
adapters.) I needed to "uninstall" all USB devices, ports and
controllers from Device Manager. Then, when rebooting the PC, XP
"Plug and Play" services will detect the USB controller and ports.
This should fix the "could be faster by plugging into a USB 2.0 port"
message.

As for the RAM, all sticks need to be the same speed and most of
this, the larger RAM stich should be in the first bank / slot.

RE: USB 2.0 Problem & New RAM Question

Try http://www.DriverGuide.com to find the Cicero driver.

As far as adding RAM, can your motherboard support it ?? Find the manual to
determine what type of RAM and in what configuration you can use.

I've never heard of Cicero. Chances are the card is a lemon.

If your RAM type is dual channel, get the same RAM type, capacity and speed
to take advantage of dual channel.

Open the lowest Root Hub in Device manager. Right click and select
'properties' and then the power tab. How many ports are listed there? If
there are more than 2 then you are looking at the enhanced root hub (i.e.
the USB2 one). They are not always identified as 'enhanced'.
