Dear Sirs.

At my office we use a 2003 TS, and prefer not to restart the machine during
work hours. Is there a way to prevent the windows update button (Restart
now/later) to NOT appear on all the users screens after a update has been
run? The restart now/later appears on administrators screen, but also at
every users rdp, and they can only click on Restart later, and the popup
appears every 5-10 minutes...

Re: Windows update on Win2003 TS

I really think that you should disable automatic updates on a TS,
and only install them after testing them, and while no users are
connected to the server. That said, this is what you can do:

Deny users access to C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe using
NTFS permissions. Make sure that Administrators are not a
member of the group which you deny access, so that the reminders
will still show for Administrators (a Deny ACE overrides all other
ACEs).
