Hi,

we just installed a file server (and print server) with good hardware
configurations. However, users experience very poor performance when reading
files from folders in that server. Curiously, uploading a file works fine,
the problem is when we try to open it.

Any tip to start looking for a solution?

Regards.

Hello Daniel,

Check that you have the latest NIC drivers installed. Do you have installed
SP2 and all patches from MS? Maybe there is a conflict netween the NIC from
the server and your switch. Sometimes it is better to use fixed speed and
duplex settings, or your switch needs additional configuration. Also check
the taskmanager when you try to open a file. Maybe your AntiVirus is blocking
during the scan of the file. Or some other services are using high CPU during
the opening.

Best regards
