in the computer of the previous message, I've installed BOINC and it's
processing SETI and CPDN, but it's only running 2 instances instead of
four??? why it's supposed that it's a quad core and supposed to run four
instances.

Latest AMD processor driver installed.

I thought XP had a 2-CPU limit, maybe someone can chip in to confirm, or
check the license in hardcopy or online. You may need a more current OS
to take advantage of quad core on the desktop.

Re: Another Question?

Windows XP Professional can support up to two processors regardless of the
number of cores on the processor. Microsoft Windows XP Home supports one
processor.

Re: Another Question?

This computer is XP pro x64 sp2 just bought 1 week ago, so that's what I'm
asking about that BOINC it's only running two instances, but when I run
another programs of heavy duty processor work, I see that the four cores are
used.
