Hello,
My apologies in advance if this question has been answered before (didn't
find a solution but perhaps my searching skills are inadequate).
I'm trying to setup permissions on a network share - specifically on a
folder within a network shared folder. I would like to have specific
users/groups access to it and deny access to the rest.
My first step is to goto the properties of the folder and then click on add
under the security tab. Once there I click on the Locations button but the
field is limited to just the local system. I can't change the location at
all. Any ideas on how to change this? Is this an AD/Group Policy issue?
I've found that this occurs on all systems (clients/servers) within our
domain.
I've also tried manually adding in the users by typing the following under
the "enter object names to select field" with the following conventions:
domain\username and username@domain and I was unsuccessful both times.
If anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to try them out. Thanks in
advance!
