Hi everyone!

Here is my setup, hoping you can lend a hand.

remote office of two people using a simple linksys router to connect two
laptops which they use to log into Terminal server (located in a different
city) They also have a all in one laserjet printer that i want to hook up for
them to share. It is network ready and i have plugged it into the router and
given it a static IP Address. I have their Remote Desktop Connection set to
bring printers from the local machine to the terminal server, However when
they sign into TS nothing get redirected. Any advice on how to set this
printer up so they can use it?

Thanks,

Re: Printing with Terminal server

Have you checked the EventLog on the TS? Most likely, the server
doesn't have a driver for the printer.
I would *not* install a 3rd party driver for this printer on the
server, since most of them are not TS compatible and can easily
crash your spooler. Especially for all-in-one printers.
Check here to see if HP has a TS compatible driver:

HP Printers Supported in Citrix MetaFrame Presentation and Terminal
Server Environments

objectID=c00213455

Just to rule out other causes:
Is the printer defined on their workstations as a network printer?
Are they using rdp client version 5.2 or higher (comes with Server
2003, enabled redirection of network printers)?

In addition to what Vera stated, this may sound like a dumb
question, are the two users able to print to this printer
locally from their workstations (i.e. MS Word, Notepad)?

If yes, it may be a printer driver issue.
