hi all
hopefully my question is a simple one - can SQL Server 2005 and ISA coexist
on the same windows server 2003 instalation ? In other words i would like to
use ISA for its firewall to give security to my SQL database and at the same
time run the proxy as well.
The machine is a dual core p4 at 3.4 ghz with 2 gig ram and the database is
very small (only 30 entries per day) the users on the proxy is also very
small - maybe 50 maximum

thanks in advance for any advice

Re: Server 2003 Capabilities

Hello Paul,

An ISA server is made for separating the local network form the outside.
It should ALWAYS be a separat server with at least to NIC's. So do NOT run
anything else on it.

Re: Server 2003 Capabilities

thank you for that and the quick reply
i run ISA already - on its own server i was just hoping to cut out the need
for a second machine for the SQL.
ISA has its own SQL setup running on the ISA box already it is just not the
full version
I willjust have to continue with both and find another way to secure the SQL
box
