Strange w32time problem

I have a domain, with a PDC emulator, and a BDC. The PDC gets time from an
external source, and the BDC gets its time from the PDC. Then BDC is then the
server for all of the member servers and clients on the network.
One of the member servers w32time service is reporting an even ID 38:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: W32Time
Event Category: None
Event ID: 38
Date: 04-16-2008
Time: 11:52:42
User: N/A
Computer: TITAN
Description:
The time provider NtpClient cannot reach or is currently receiving invalid
time data from dc02.domain.lan (ntp.d|172.18.1.15:123->172.18.1.5:123).

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

(This is from syncing with the BDC, but every other source returns the same
results.

I have tired switch time servers to an external source and the PDC. I have
also tried to shut down both of their fire walls, nothing.

They both have 2 different adapters, on 2 different subnets if this is a
problem.

Does anyone know any way to fix this problem.

Thank you in advanced,

Re: Strange w32time problem

Hello David,

Multihoming Domain controllers is not recommended and can create a lot of
problems. Please post an unedited ipconfig /all from both machines and describe
for what reason you need the different sbunets on one machine. Maybe we can
find a better solution.

Noe that the second interface does not have any DNS or WINS resolution. It

Re: Strange w32time problem

Hello David,

Did you check that the member server is in the same time zone and also the
time difference is not more then 5 minutes?
