I am the system admin who just received a brand new Dell Optiplex 755 - it
came with WinXP Home. SOP is for us to upgrade to XP Pro (we have a volume
license that lets us do this legally).
The upgrade went fine. I was even able to install the Microsoft Update
utility (replacing the Windows update).
However, now when I run MS Update (it tells me there are 95 critical and 10
optional), it fails on all of them saying
Problem: A problem on your computer is preventing updates from
being downloaded or installed
That is now my question - can someone help me get this machine to run the
updates like it should?
I ran the http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/diag/RunDiags.aspx?displayLang=en
as instructed, where it passed all of the diagnotistics. I then ran the
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , where it gave me the following
