Change SBS to Windows Server

I purchased a new server with Windows Server 2003 on it. I currently have a
server with "Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server" on it.
I am trying to determine if it is possible (or even advisable) to change my
current one to a plain Server version. We do not use Exchange. We want to
start using Terminal Services. I think it may be best to have Terminal
Services on the current box rather than the new one.

If it possible, can anyone guide me as to how to accomplish it?

Thank you for any help/guidance you may provide.

If you bought SBS, you'll have to contact the hardware mfr. to
exchange/return it. If you want to run TS, you'll definitely need regular
W2003 server (you can't install it on SBS).

Re: Change SBS to Windows Server

Hello BDZ,

So you have two physical servers, one SBS and one new 2003? I understand
you right? Why not add it as a member server to the SBS domain and use it
for TS?

Re: Change SBS to Windows Server

I bought the new server to increase speed for my ERP. If I make it a member
server, will I compromise that speed because the old server is older and
slower?

Thanks,

No, and you can't make an SBS box a member server anyway. It has to be a DC
and must hold all the FSMO roles in the domain.
