2003 Standard Server, SP1, external approved fax/modem, running Terminal
Services

Using included MS Fax Services to send faxes only...not rec'g...
Has been working fine over a year...can send faxes both locally from the
Console at the Terminal Server, logged in as "administrator", also remote
users can use the shared fax to send faxes when logged in...last several
months...outgoing faxes not being sent...

Procedure: start the send fax wizard....enter client phone number...select
cover page...choose to send now...the wizard disappears from screen..the fax
console windows shows up....no jobs in outgoing box...no dialog box showing
fax is being sent...no response from modem...

Event Error message:
"Fax not submitted because connection could not be made to the fax service."
Outbound event ID: 32091 Error: 1747

Have done the following.....original ext. USB fax/modem USR 5633..had been
working fine over a year....according to USR...not compatible with Server
2003...
replaced with ext USR 5686, connected to COM2....can use Hyper Terminal to
dial out just fine....
No change

Have uninstalled the Fax Services component from add/remove...reinstalled
using the install CD....setup fax/printer via configuration setup...still
cannot send fax...

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Re: Faxing from 2003 server

Are you using the manufacturers drivers? Try using the Windows Standard
56000 bps driver. I had this happen to me also. Tried reinstalling
everything to no avail. Everything worked fine until I added a second modem.
Same mfg and drivers. Had to switch to the windows Standard drivers. both
work fine.
