Hi,
I really have become bored of rebuilding servers from scratch.
By rebuild, I mean formatting & partitioning drives, installing MS 2003 OS
(and Oh those patches!), things like server roles, Programs, etc. and all the
setting that go with them.
In thinking about solutions, I came to the conclusion that I'm not fully
sure that a restore can be performed to dissimilar hardware.
I'd like to be able to take disk images and just drop them into either like
or new server hardware without having to rebuild anything. (I need to spend
my time elsewhere)
Hence I would have a picture of the server (less user files that may be
backed up by other means) and just drop this image on new hardware.
If there a complete solution for this without the need to format and
partition drives, intall OS, Programs, etc?
Thanks much,
Mark
