Re: 2k3 changed it's name/IP now I can't find it on the network?
I had never heard of Nmap. So I just downloaded it and tried it. I think
I'll stick with the IP scanner I was using. I rarely need to scan across
subnets, so it's not a big deal. And it is much easier to use.
And I had a strange problem after using nmap; I lost my internet
connectivity. I still had an IP address, but I couldn't ping my router.
When I tried to do a ipconfig/renew, I got this strange message "The
operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this
operation". So I disable and re-enabled the NIC. Still could not access
the internet, router or do a renew. I restarted my PC; same thing. I power
cycled the router, and I could get on the internet again. I probably just
wasn't holding my mouth right, or something.... but that was very odd.
