I am noticing my MSN goes ofline now and then, and I network icon in the
system tray has a yellow icon on it, I hover my mouse over it and it says
Network
Access: Local
Then after a while it will come right and says
Network
Access: Local and Internet

Tried restarting the router and computer and sometimes stays at Local for
upto 3 mins

Re: Network

How old is your cable modem? Is it DOCIS 2.0 compliant?

Re: Network

Not sure Colin, but I am using a 3COM gigabit switch (3C1670500B) connected
to a 3COM ADSL Router (3CRWDR101A-75) the computer is connected to the
switch with 2 other computers running gigabit LAN.

Re: Network

Clayton,
A couple of questions come to my mind, that could guide others in helping you.
1.- Does this happens only when you are connected to MSN?
2.- When did this problem start? Did you had it always or did it just start
some day?
3.- What happens with MSN in the other computers in your network?

Re: Network

I have had to replace DOCIS 1.1 compliant modems due to dropped packets
following my ISP's upgrading of thier broadband service. The way to find
out is to have your ISP run a test on your modem from their end. Isn't the
3Com you list is a router? What is the modem?

Re: Network

Have you updated the firmware to 3CRWDR101A-75_v1.10.00.A.exe as offered on
the website?
