Windows 2008 X64 w/ QuickBooks 2008 installed - Terminal server
Issue:
1. User connect to the terminal server using the remote desktop/Remote App-
2. User tried to save a file as PDF
3. User is asked what printer to use. - Problem!!
User should not be prompted for printer - QuickBooks (on Windows 2003) would
just automatically use the QuickBooks PDF Converter and save the file as a
PDF.
I believe the easy print is not function properly with QUickBooks PDF
Converter.
Reason:
When I connect to the server - BUT i check the box (in RDP) not to connect
printers,
I am able to save the PDF without being asked what printer to use (They way
it should be)
Is there a way I can tell the server (easy print) not to try to redirect the
print request for the QuickBooks PDF Converter.
I DO NOT have this is when I was using Windows 2003, but I LOVE the TS easy
print redirection- I just need to work with the QuickBooks PDF Converter.

Have you checked with Intuit to see if they have any recommendations?
Re: Windows 2008 Easy Print w/ QuickBooks 2008 PDF Converter
Yes. They do not. It appears to be a Windows 2008 issue w/ XP SP3.
On a machine w/ SP2.. They problem doesnt exist. Since XP2 does not know
about the easy print feature of TS.
I am let to either take off SP3 or call Microsoft Support if I dont get any
answers here.

Seems easiest to remove SP3, as it's not really doing all that much for you
(AFAIK). I'm not rushing out to deploy it on my clients, although I'm
delighted MS is still indicating an interest in supporting XP (I'm
boycotting Vista).

Re: Windows 2008 Easy Print w/ QuickBooks 2008 PDF Converter
Actually I saw a performance increase in most of machines I deployed with SP3
and SP3 is what gives me the easy print for Terminal server - I didnt have to
deploy any print drivers. So I think I rather fix the issue with a simple
call to Microsoft.
Thanks anyway.
Are there and Terminal Server -MVP out there??

Re: Windows 2008 Easy Print w/ QuickBooks 2008 PDF Converter
I would definitively phone Microsoft Support about this issue.
I've recently seen one more post about a similar issue with XP SP3
and TS Esy Print:
