The truth is Microsoft is working full bore on getting Win 7 going, to
replace Vista. And yes, it's reputation has probaly been tarnished beyond
repair. They will coin a new brand name for Win 7.

Ok, I will entertain him. Vista does not suck. It is pathetic in its
idiosyncracies that add no value and slow in network and disk copy
operations. It is a hog on resources like memory and video.

I wouldn't and I haven't recommended Vista. Of 6 people I know who have
bought a new PC in the last year (non-corporate). 2 have gone out and
replaced with a re-purchased copy of XP Pro. 1 has reloaded it with Linux.
Another returned it and bought a Mac. 2 still run Vista bat don't like it.
To quote, "We live with it.".
All I have to say is, why not give people the choice?
