Quotas are based on file ownership... if you (as the admin) copied files
to the server into their folder for some reason, then this would not
count towards their quota and when they deleted the files, there would
be no change in the quota.

If they DO own the files they are deleting, then you should see
available space on the network drive increasing. The Quota entries
displayed on the disk properties may take a little time to reflect the
change though.

Re: Windows 2003 Disk Quota

I did test I delete some files from users folder and the quota did not drop
it been 2 week since I have deleted the files around 700MB.

Thanks

Are you CERTAIN the files were OWNED by him? You do understand what I
mean by file ownership - the File properties, security tab, advanced
button, owner tab.

Re: Windows 2003 Disk Quota

Thanks Lee, but I am very CERTAIN the files were OWNED by him because I
create the file under his login and I use my login account and deleted his
700MB file but quota is still say's 700MB it been 3weeks since I have deleted
the file. Can anyone help me out on this.

Thanks
