Hi:
I have an app running on a server. I need to have 3 people access it over
the Internet. I am going to run 'Terminal Server' from Windows 2003 Server,
with the 3 clients accessing it across the Internet. I am getting differing
information from different vendors and I know very little about Terminal
Server and its requirements. The vendor of the software wants the Terminal
Server not on my current server that is running the app, but on a workstation
(hardware wise) with Windows 2003 server. He is also saying that Terminal
Server performance is dependent on the hard drives performance. Is that
true?? Do I need 15K RPM hard drive, as recommended?? Or does Terminal Server
operate from RAM after it is called to be loaded??
My thinking is that I should be able to run a dual core Intel with 2 GB RAM
and a 7200 rpm SATA II hard drive and be able to run Terminal Server
servicing 3 clients off that across the Internet. It would have Win 2003
Server installed on it. Your thinking??
To server 3 clients do I need additional licenses?
Thanks,
