I keep getting the below error over and over again in my server 2003 rc2
system event log,
i have looked up the error and it says that the problem is "your Kerberos
cannot resolve
a request from another host", but this is the same host, allso that the
couse is time difference,
how could this be possible if it is the same machine ( Server Name:
host/credo_exchange.credobanka.hr
Target Name: host/credo_exchange.credobanka.hr@CREDOBANKA.HR)

A Kerberos Error Message was received:

Re: Server Time

Hello filip,

If you press the 2 paper button in the right corner of the event properties
you can copy the complete error here. The event No is missing, so please
post the complete event again.

Also do you really use an RC Release candidate version from 2003?

Best regards

Re: Server Time

i found that a server on our network is in need of an account reset, but
the time on the server is just few minutes apart from the main DC where i
found the logs,
so i'm still wondering as the log shows the time difference is 2 hours. Our
time zone is currently 2 hours from GMT (UMT), is it something to do with
this?

Re: Server Time

Hello filip,

In a domain any machine has to be the same time provided from the PDCEmulator,
where all DC's sync with and the member servers and clients sync with one
of the available DC's.
So try to resync the time with the domain first:

w32tm /config /syncfromflags:domhier /update

After that run:

net stop w32time

net start w32time

Re: Server Time

But how is possible that the same computer shows different times,
as the event is recorded ancredo_exchange and Server Time is on Credo
exchange, how is this possible?

Re: Server Time

I think what Roger was trying to explain was that the two different time
values represent the same time, one being local to your timezone, the other
being relative to "Universal Coordinated Time" or GMT ("Greenwich Mean
Time").

Because domains can typically span time zones, much of the time information
contained on them is maintained independent of what the local time zone
happens to be, attributes like lastlogondate, for example. If done
otherwise, time calculations would become overly complex. But when I logon
to the nearest domain controller and type the DATE command, it shows me the
time relative to the local time zone.

Re: Server Time

Ok, so i can say that this is not a time difference problem, and still all
information/solution goes to that direction?

Re: Server Time

Correct - I do not think that you have a time difference problem. But since
you seem to be in Croatia, I am surprised by the two hour difference, as I
thought Croatia was at UTC+1.

Anyway, here is how I interpret the information you showed below:

>>>>> Date: 8.5.2008
>>>>> Time: 11:38:04

When not qualified, one assumes local time.

>>>>> Server Time: 9:38:4.0000 5/8/2008 Z

the "Z" is highly suggestive of UTC time. I think that, for example, the
whenchanged AD attribute is given in this format:

20080508132259.0Z
