I rent one of my dedicated servers from IPower (back when they were good, mind you). But after this experience I'm thinking of switching.
Recently IPower decided to start charging my card an extra $12 a month. Not much, but enough to make me sit up and take notice. But conversly, I noticed my "Future Invoices" list on my billing page said my November 2008 bill would be only $25 (wtf).
Here's how the conversation went:
Hi,
I recently noticed that iPower has been charging my card more than before. In the past iPower regularly debited my card once every three months, but recently I've seen two additional smaller payments made every month since Februrary 2008. On my invoices/receipts page (which only has records from November 2007) I see you're debiting me $12 every month on top of the existing fee I pay.
Since my account is debited with GBP (rather than USD) and the exchange rate fluctuates a bit I cannot tell if you've reduced the main monthly rate and charge this to compensate, or just charging me more anyway.
Also, I notice the future payment due on the 17th of November 2008 is only $25 rather than the usual $xxxx. Can you explain this too?
Thanks

I haven't been charged $12 monthly before, if this is a case of iPower over-charging me I will file a chargeback with my bank. I need to know *why* iPower has started charging me monthly.
I also want to know why the November 2008 payment is only $25.

I'm afraid you haven't provided the required information.
I asked *why* I'm now paying more per month than before. And *why* the November fee is only $25 rather than $xxx.

I swear I'm not making this up. Is "Mario Rogers" a robot or script or something?
Morerather, how can I get redress for this? International phone calls are expensive.
