Trying to help a visually-impaired friend, running Vista Home Premium ,to
enlarge text and icons , I set the custom dpi size to maximum (500%). Now we
can only see a small piece of the desktop and I can't find a way to move
around on the desktop. As a result I can't reduce the font size to something
more manageable. Can anyone tell me how to navigate around the desktop under
these conditions?

Boot to "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and run system restore.

Hi Ron,

In addition to Mark's post, you can boot into Safe Mode and change your
DPI setting back to the default 96 DPI. Afterwards, restart back into
your normal desktop. You should have it back to normal then. This
tutorial will show you how to boot into Safe Mode if needed.
