Step by Step Guide to Implementing TS?

I have found a Technet step by step guide for Remoteapp and Gateway services,
but I can't find one for simply getting TS up and running.

I have just built a Windows 2008 development server and I can't connect from
my clients. I am not sure if I have got 'Remote' permissions set wrong,
whether it's a TSCAL issue or what. I don't want to post what might appear
to be silly questions here if there's a guide to cover basic installation
overview and things to check.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for an idiots guide?

What I am hoping to achieve is to give 3 users a TS desktop on the 2008
server with the Vista Experience feature installed - to make it feel like
they're on a vista machine. I am also going to have a play with thin clients
(like the Wyse winterms) but I am not certain how well these cope with things
like streaming media from, for example, the bbc.co.uk web site.
