I have been a long term user of AVG Anti-Virus. However, with version 7.5
about to expire and 8.0 not available to W98, I decided to uninstall it
and replace it with Avast.
However, having run the uninstall, I was left with various folders
(Program Files\Grisoft and Windows\All Users\Application Data\ Grisoft &
AVG) which I have since moved off the machine.
Now, during the boot up process, I get the message that the registry or
System.ini file refers to device files which no longer exist. These are:-
C:\PROGRA'1\GRISOFT\AVGFRE'1\AVG7CORE.VXD
C:\PROGRA'1\GRISOFT\AVGFRE'1\AVG7RS.VXD
C:\PROGRA'1\GRISOFT\AVGFRE'1\AVG7DI.VXD
I cannot see any reference to these in the system.ini file, so I would be
very grateful for any help in sorting this out.
Kind Regards,
