Re: How to delete Default Profile
I managed to resolve the issue and it appears that a corrupt default profile
wasn't not the problem after all.
The logon was hanging at "Apply Personal Settings" and I had read that a
corrupt profile might cause this. It was hanging for any user that logged
on, which suggested that if might be the default profile.
However it turned out to be an IP Configuration issue - the other avenue I
was looking into. The server had 3 IP Addresses bound to its NICS, the IP
Addresses stradled two Active Directory Sites. I removed one of the IP
Addresses and added another that is located in the subnet of the remaining
two IP Addresses and it rebooted and logged on twice without any issues.
A useful pointer was the DynamicSiteName string was not in the registry.
This strongly suggested a networking problem. (It is generating on reboot)
Events 1030 & 1058 generated in the application log. Hope someone find this
useful.
