I am running Windows XP Pro SP2.
I have the message: USB device malfunctioning but when I click on the
message, the window that opens is always empty, except once where I had USB
root hub (2 ports):unknown USB device and unused port. I keep hearing the
sound of an USB device connecting-disconnecting.
My laptop keeps trying to connect to WiFi, sometimes I have the message: no
network available (but my other laptop can connect), sometimes it connects,
but not for long.
This problem could be linked to Activesync. When I put my laptop on, I have
an Activesync message: cannot connect to the com port. If I reconnect, the
PPC is recognized by the machine but then I can't connect PPC and laptop via
BlueTooth anymore. So I disconnected the serial port from Activesync.
In the device manager all the ports seem to be functioning well.
I tried to restore my system but all the restore points have been wiped
out.
Could it be a problem connected to my printer. When I connect my printer to
either of the USB ports, 2 devices appear when I click on the USB icon: the
printer itself and a disk H? But may be this is normal. What is this disk
H?
Thank you in advance for your help.
