All,

I have a server that uses an automatic login at startup. We are
having a problem when the server starts the auto login can not login
because it is prompting us for a reason for an unexpected reboot. Is
there a way to disable this prompt for a reason? I know this is not
an ideal way to handle it, but this is what the customer wants.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Craig

You can disable the prompt (see
http://www.petri.co.il/disable_shutdown_event_tracker_in_windows_2003.htm)
but

a) I'd be concerned with the reason the server thinks it was not properly
shutdown & restarted
b) I'd be uninclined to do this even if it's what the customer wants; there
is probably a better way for them to accomplish what they need. Sometimes
you have to say no!
