Hello, does anyone know the difference between OEM & FULL licenses? I am
looking at Windows Server 2008 Standard. I find both OEM and FULL for almost
the same price (OEM slightly cheaper). I am trying to figure out what the
difference is.

thanks

Basics:
OEM is linked permenantly to the hardware with which you purchase it
OEM is to be supported by the hardware mfr.
OEM can be slightly different (Dell apparently wrote some of their own DLLs
for SBS2003, according to an MS tech with whom I worked)

I always prefer retail or open license. Much more flexible.

A principle difference is the OEM license is tied to the hardware purchased
with the server. You can not (legally) move it to a different server later.
The full license does not have that restriction.
