Hi,
I'm looking for confirmation on whether Terminal Services in Windows 2008
Server works over commonly used ports such as SSL port 443. Although I've
done some searching (admittedly I could do more), I thought someone here
might know and be able to give me a quick answer.
Essentially there are some office sites that block RDP port 3389 which
prevents our users from accessing our Win2K3 Terminal Server and due to
policies currently in place (which incidentally don't apply to all branch
and office locations) we can't get this changed. I have thought of changing
the RDP port on both the Terminal Server but this would also mean that the
users would have to make the necessary changes on the client PC's which (a)
can be a real mission for some less PC savvy users, and (b) isn't
appropriate as the PC's they may use at other sites isn't the one assigned
to them.
From what I understand Terminal Services in Win2K8 can be used purely over
port 443 but perhaps someone can confirm.
Thanks in advance.
Sergio
