Hello all.

Is there a way to know when the W32Time will synchronize his time the next
time ? Like a countdown value.

I have a problem with my time and I need to know when my DC will go over the
internet the next time to sync his time.

Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 version.

Thanks

Only your root domain PDCe should "go over the Internet" for external time
sync.

The above describes the whole enchilada and should also answer your "when"
part too.

Re: Win32Time

Hi.

I already know that.

I have a problem on my network always between 5pm and 6pm and I believe that
my PDC take the time on a server that has some problem.

So I need to know the next time that my DC will go on the internet to
synchronize his time.

Is there a way to know when my DC will synchronize his time the next time ?
Like in 3 hours 15 minutes

Thanks

How often your PDC Emulator syncs to an outside source depends on the time
service settings in the reg. You can set it to whatever you want. Default is
set to sync every 45 minutes until it's right, then it goes to once a day.
You can change that if you want, but I've found it's sufficient. In 2003,
the time service on the PDC emulator polls every 15 minutes.

Read through the following articles carefully and thoroughly to understand
the reg entries and how you can customize them. I would also suggest to read
the informative article KJ offered as well for an overview of the time
service.
