I'm setting up some terminal servers. Should I be in install-mode when
installing the anti-virus software? Or, does it just need to be installed on
the server? I understand why the applications which the remote users will run
need to be installed in the install-mode. I'm not sure if this also applies
to the anti-virus software.
Thank you,

RE: Anti-Virus software

Which antivirus package are you using? I know that Symantec Corp Ed. says to
install in remote app mode, not install mode.

RE: Anti-Virus software

I'm using McAfee 8.5. I doesn't seem that the anti-virus software would be
installed in the multi-user mode (installation mode), but I've not read
anything which gives me a definite answer. I'm not familiar with remote app
mode.

RE: Anti-Virus software

Sorry, I meant to type "remote admin" mode.

RE: Anti-Virus software

I've been given an article published as KB40319, "Installing McAfee VirusScan
and Anti-spyware Enterprise on Terminals Servers". It states that in all
instances, their recommendation is to use Add/Remove Programs. So, that
would be invoking the "install" mode.
