TS architecture

Hello everybody,
The company I'm working for has several branch office (sites) in its AD.
Today each site has its own terminal service (on windows 2000 server)
environment = TS Licencing Server + TS Server).
We plan to upgrade the infrastructure with Windows 2003 servers... I would
like to know if it isn't a good opportunity to install only one TS Licencing
server in the HQ of the company (and install TS server in the different
branch office) instead of having several Licencing Server to manage ?

Hi,

Yes. You can have a single Terminal Server License Server.
Only thing you need to take care is it is discoverable by each Terminal
Server.
One way is manually specifiying License Server in each Termial Server.

Thanks for your answer Ratnesh.

One more question : what will happen if I install a single TS License Server
(in one country) and my Terminal Servers (localized in other countries) are
unable to contact the TS License Server ?

Well depends on few things

1. If TS is in side grace period
- Connections will be allowed till grace period expires

2. If TS is outside grace period
- TS Mode is Per Device:
- Connection will not be allowed
- TS mode is Per User:
- If TS has discovered License Server once, connections will
be allowed: That mean Admin needs to keep track of Per User CALs manually
- If TS has not discovered License Server, connections will
be denied
