We are looking for backup solution for Clients (workstations) on our
network. We was trying Symantec Backup Exec DLO option but it is to
slow, and to complicated.
We need software with client agents. We want that backup will be stored
on the network drive (share) and it will be possible to recover files
from backup without any program just copy the wanted file back to the
workstation.
The problem with Symantec is that if the whole Syamntec will crash you
are not able to recover the backup data.

What software will meet our expectations?

Look at http://www.backup4all.com. No agent. But does everything else you
want. Including being able to restore to any machine without even loading
the program. Just copy back.

Re: What client backup software

We need something managed centrally. We have 200 clients we would like
to backup. So far we was using script with robocopy but than we do not
have control if the scipt run or not.

Re: What client backup software

The program need only be installed on one computer to manage backups to/from
anywhere on the LAN. Or, do you mean with remote connections to manage
backups from any machine?

I looked at most of the "big dogs" (i.e. $400-$1000 programs) available and
found that this one worked best for many things regardless of its low price
(~$50.00). It does NOT do tapes, however.
