we just converted our windows 2003 file server over to a vmware server.

since that time I have had issues with users accessing certain folders. I
even have issues such as certain folders in our Public folder are denied,
while others are accessible, even though the Public folder itself is set to
be accessible to all. other people lost access to their my documents, even
though all rights appeared to be correct. that is appeared.

the only errors I can find are a lot of pre-authentication errors such as
the ones below.
any hints where to look next?

Pre-authentication failed:

User Name: simpson

User ID: mydomain\simpson

Service Name: krbtgt/mydomain

Pre-Authentication Type: 0x2

Failure Code: 0x18

Client Address: 192.168.27.86

Pre-authentication failed:

User Name: Administrator

User ID: MYDOMAIN\administrator

Service Name: krbtgt/mydomain

Pre-Authentication Type: 0x2

Failure Code: 0x25

Client Address: 192.168.27.86

Pre-authentication failed:

User ID: MYDOMAIN\administrator

Service Name: krbtgt/mydomain

Gary,
Just wondering, have you found an answer. I'm getting a ton of them on my 03 domain without VMWare.

Gary,
Did you ever have any luck with this problem? I'm having the same issue on a 03 domain without VMWare.

Dave
