Hi,

For some reason my computer keep freezing for no reason. It has been
working fine before. I am running windows vista 32 bit. When it freezes
I cant move my mouse or do anything so i have to turn it off from the
mains and turn it back on. Currently i am using safe mode with
networking. I tryed the system restore to restore it back to the last
windows update which i thought might have been the problem since the
computer was working fine until i installed it. But it didn't do
anything, it says that the restore was successful but my computer still
froze about 5-10 mins after startup. I don't know why.
The Specs are

Windows vista home premium
Geoforce 8600
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.20 GHz
2046 RAM

Re: Vista Freezes

A freeze is most often a Video driver problem.
Look at Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) or the Performance Monitor (perfmon
/rel).
Device Manager (devmgmt.msc) will let you 'roll back driver'

Re: Vista Freezes

You should really update all your drivers, Vista drivers for almost all
hardware have done nothing but get better.

Usual culprits are Sound and video, start there.

Neither did your reply questioning Mark's offer to help.

Re: Vista Freezes

If your using the latest Nvidia drivers by any chance, then try the 169.25
versions...
Same problem here,this fixed it.
