I keep getting "Event System 4261" error showing in Event Viewer and need
some input on how to fix it. The detail in the event viewer says "The COM+
Event System could not remove the EventSystem.EventSubscription object
{CEB8B221-89C5-41A8-98CE-79B413BF150B}-{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}-{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}. The HRESULT was 80070005."
But I don't know what the item is or what to do about it.
The article on
http://technet2.microsoft.com/windo...d7b6-45ac-bf24-7aeed50ca3f61033.mspx?mfr=true
says to "check the required properies are set" but since I am unfamilliar
with COM+ I don't know what to set.
But I can see in Services that COM+ Event System is started ahile COM+
System Application is on Manual (unstarted). The DCOM application RPC are
running but RPC Locator is manual. None of that meant anything to me but the
article says to check.
Does someone know if this needs fixing and if so how, thanks.

When I Google "Event System 4261" I get no results.
Take a screen shot if you can't copy the exact message.

Re: Event System COM+ Error

Dave -- thanks -- can't see a facility to attach a screenshot but here is a
link to the page on fixing COM+ errors
http://technet2.microsoft.com/windo...d7b6-45ac-bf24-7aeed50ca3f61033.mspx?mfr=true
My first post refers to some of the diagnostics on that page but I am not
clear on what I need to do now.
Thanks again

I have already been to that link - as you well know it describes " Event ID 4621"

You stated : " I keep getting "Event System 4261" error showing in Event Viewer "

You seem to be confused about the number 4261 and the number 4621.

That's what you need to be clear about.
